Participated in ETHOnline 2025, the flagship asynchronous hackathon by ETHGlobal. Worked on ChronoVault, a Web3 wallet with bank-grade security through TOTP-based two-factor authentication and zero-knowledge proofs. The hackathon provided an excellent platform to innovate and collaborate with fellow developers in the Ethereum ecosystem.
Man, winning this one felt surreal! Out of 600+ projects, we snagged a top spot with ChronoVault. The judges really appreciated our focus on security and user experience. This felt validating after all the hackathons where we came close but didn't quite make it, but it also kinda made me feel impostor syndrome? Like, how did we pull this off when so many other amazing projects were there? ๐ญ The ever-so fine line between feeling like a 10x dev and impostor syndrome is wild.
I had this core idea during ETHGlobal New Delhi 2025, where I had to share my devices with people due to network issues. Being the paranoid Mr. Robot watcher that I am. I thought, "What if someone accesses my crypto wallet while I'm away?" That seed (get it, seed phrase) of an idea grew into ChronoVault. Building it was a rollercoasterโjuggling TOTP integration, zero-knowledge proofs, and ensuring a smooth user experience.
We built a project that removes the single-point-of-failure risk in crypto wallets by adding a TOTP-based 2FA layer. Plus, we used zero-knowledge proofs to ensure that there are NO centralized entites or offchain servers storing sensitive data. Definitely gonna build on this idea further, maybe even turn it into a full-fledged product. The hackathon experience was incredible, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow.
Thanks to the ETHGlobal team for organizing such a fantastic event and to my teammates for their hard work and dedication.
