Everything in the past few months has been leading up to this moment – the Devfolio Tryouts hackathon! As an avid builder and tech enthusiast, I was thrilled to participate in this unique event designed to challenge and showcase the skills of engineers, product designers, and marketers.
I got to know about it from Aniket's tweet and immediately hit Apply. Booked tickets to Bangalore, hotel room at bloomrooms, and started packing. Reached Bangalore a day before, had fun at cafes and cool restaurants that I missed from my previous visits.
Woke up the next day, went to their HQ, so cool! So many stickers, chill vibe, and a lovely team. Knew that this was gonna be good. After a quick intro and ice-breaker session, we got down to business. Got assigned tasks, setup my repo, and started cracking at it.
The problem statement was clear and simple. It was about creating a minimal and collaborative note-taking app with RAG-enhanced search. I literally did all of these pieces individually before, and it was super fun to put them all together in a single project again. Spent the next 12 hours coding, talking with peeps, having some food, and getting mentored by the awesome Devfolio team.
Great chat with their engineering team as always. And truly loved the vibe they have at their HQ, I'd definitely love to work there someday. Submitted my project ahead of time, took some pics of the HQ. Collected a schwag bag, said my goodbyes, and headed to the airport.
Overall, the Devfolio Tryouts hackathon was an incredible experience. It pushed me to think creatively, work efficiently, and connect with like-minded individuals. Kudos to the Devfolio team for organizing such a fantastic event. Can't wait to see what they have in store next! ETHIndia 2025, perhaps? 😉
